Backyard Bundles: ECO-Printing Saturday 4/28
Learn how to make beautiful patterns and prints on fiber. We will press, wrap, tie, steam and cook--petals, leaves, metals, fabric, bark and more. Bring a special rock, twig, metal object, button or other small item to add to your bundle. We will have an open and honest discussion about fibers, mordanting, foraging and safety.
Eco-Printing is a movement made famous by the influential artist, India Flint. Natural dyeing in this way inspires us to care for where our clothes came from and where they will travel to..and how we, as people, can lessen our footprint with textiles. I will show you my own personal "no-impact" dye method...re-using and foraging for everything that will make color on your work.
